This full-reference shaper cutter is for making 2.5mm zig-zag grooves and great reference for a high-quality joinery. This joint is common gluing up pre-squared pieces for board slabs for tabletops, furniture components, and cutting boards.
For a 55mm material, the additional 22mm (over 41% more) gluing surface secures the along-the-grain fiber bonds between the two pieces of wood. With a 2.5mm spacer or spindle height adjustment, the opposite glue joint can easily produce smooth and finish-quality cuts.
