Producing Solid Wood Flooring
Flooring is a straightforward product which can be produced on a shaper with just one insert cutter head, for customized, solid-wood floor panels. This video guide will demonstrate how to run floor panels with a multi-use cutter.
Minimizing Waste
It's tough to hide wood imperfections in flooring- when making floor panels, knots and other imperfections can make otherwise perfectly strong pieces of timber go to waste. If you're using solid wood to make floor panels, a knot filling product can help you avoid waste- but be sure to select the right one. Most knot filling substances are graded for hardness versus flexibility, with more of one meaning less of the other. For a use like flooring, where the wood and filler are going to take a lot of impact, be sure to use a substance with a high hardness rating that won't wear out over time.
