Knowledge

"It starts with knowledge..." is more than a motto to us- it's how we do business. Our first goal is to share some of what we have learned about our trade with you.

Gasketing

Gasketing

Gasketing is applying the rubber seal that adds another layer of protection and insulation around the perimeter of windows and doors. The primary reason gaskets are applied is to improve the performance of the window or door- gaskets create a more airtight seal, which helps maintain the interior temperature against the outside, and muffles exterior sound.

In the case of European-designed windows and doors, two and maybe even three gaskets could be applied. The decision on how many to include in your window or door is a crucial step in the design process- each gasket needs a properly machined groove, placed in the right orientation to boost the performance of the window. To get the most out of your gasketing, work with design partner which can simulate the performance of your window before you settle on a design- placing your gaskets right is just as important as how many are applied.
